JULY 2016 - Steel Dynamics and Danieli FATA Hunter Sign Contract for a Cleaning Section for the Butler Galvanizing Line - Danieli FATA Hunter has announced that it has been awarded a contract from Steel Dynamics Inc. (SDI) to supply a cleaning section as part of a larger upgrade project on an existing Galvanizing Line at the SDI Butler facility. The cleaning section is scheduled to be delivered in January 2017 with immediate installation and performance testing. This upgrade will allow the line to process a larger variety of substrates and allow SDI to maintain their market leadership in the supply of high quality metallic coated steel.
The new cleaning section will process cold rolled steel sheet with a maximum width of 64" and a maximum base metal thickness of 0.165" at a maximum speed of 450 fpm. The equipment includes the latest technology for change on the fly brush rolls and squeegee rolls, and incorporates features for future additional waste heat recovery capacity.

DECEMBER 2016 - New Contract in Russia for Danieli FATA Hunter - Revamp project of an existing roughing mill after fire
Danieli FATA Hunter was recently awarded a contract for the revamp after substantial fire of the existing mill in operation at OJSC Ural Foil in Mikhailovsk, Sverdlovsk region.
Project execution -equipment supply, erection and commissioning- will be completed within 35 weeks.
Thanks to these modernization works, existing mill will improve product quality and reduce maintenance.
Created in 2003 as part of the Mikhailovsk nonferrous metal working plant, Ural Foil is one of the fastest developing foil rolling mills in Russia and an essential part of Rusal's packaging business.

DECEMBER 2016 - New Danieli Fata Hunter coil coating line in operation in the USA - Steel Dynamics produces the first coil ahead of schedule at Columbus works
In less than 16 months from the date of the contract signing, and ahead of the planned schedule, Steel Dynamics Inc. (SDI) and Danieli Fata Hunter have started up and produced the first coated coil with the new double-coat continuous coil coating line for steel at SDI Columbus, Mississippi facility.
The 600-fpm line will process cold rolled, galvanized, pickled hot band and Galvalume steel coils with a maximum width of 72" and a maximum base metal thickness of .076". The line incorporates Danieli Fata Hunter's patented Single Slide Coating Machines with closed-loop force control including dry paint thickness gauge feedback for the best available control of paint thickness. The Danieli Fata Hunter Clean AirTM oven system not only will ensure SDI's customers of superior quality strip, it will also will maximize the productivity and minimize the operating cost of the line. This oven system, in combination with the Roll-On Pre-Treatment (ROPT) chemical coater and afterburner system, will minimize the environmental impact of the line, meet SDI's rigorous sustainability criteria and service the market segments that require the most stringent quality standards.
This is a remarkable accomplishment by the project teams of both Companies, made possible by the outstanding cooperation between SDI and Danieli FATA Hunter throughout the Project execution.

JANUARY 2015 - OARC Final Acceptance - The Oman Aluminium Rolling Company (OARC), owned by Takamul Investment Company, based in Sohar (Oman) and constructed by FATA EPC (a division of FATA S.p.A.), successfully concluded its extensive final IPPT (Integrated Plant Performance Tests) Program in November 2014.
OARC has produced coils across all product ranges and have now begun their ramp-up to full production.
The OARC Plant is a state-of-the-art, world-class light gauge sheet rolling facility with a capacity of 140,000 tonnes per year. It includes a Hazelett Twin Belt Caster which provides unique metallurgical properties that benefit customers in their business applications of aluminium sheet products. The successful combination of the industry leading technology of the Hazelett belt caster with the state-of-the-art Hot Rolling, Cold Rolling and Finishing Equipment supplied by FATA Hunter (another division of FATA S.p.A.) allows OARC to provide its customers value added products and generate long term, sustainable employment opportunities in Oman.
During a brief ceremony held in Sohar on January 21 Mr. Ron Marchbanks, CEO of OARC, and Mr. Anthony Tropeano, CEO of FATA EPC and FATA Hunter, exchanged commemorative plaques to express the companies’ mutual thankfulness for the successful completion of the Project.

With more than 3,000 total presentations and 70 technical symposia scheduled with 280 presentations on aluminium processing, alloys and related technologies, the 144th edition took place in Orlando, Florida from March 15 through March 19, 2015.
FATA Hunter participated in the conference and presented two papers.
The first presentation was part of the Aluminium Processing Session I and dealt with the operational results achieved by the High-Speed Can End Coating Line that FATA Hunter realized for Novelis do Brazil at its Pindamohangaba facility.
It was presented by Dr. Anthony Tropeano, CEO of FATA Hunter & FATA EPC, and co-authored by Mr. TrajanoNeto, Process Engineer – CES/Coating Line at Novelis do Brazil.
The second paper described the FATA Hunter innovations and experience in process technology for manufacturing magnesium alloy sheet using TRC.
The presentation was included in the Strip Casting of Light Metals – Process Technology session and was made by Enrico Romano, Process Engineer at FATA Hunter Torino.

NOVEMBER 2015 - New Contract in China for FATA Hunter - FATA Hunter was recently awarded a contract for the supply of one new hSystem® automation system to Shandong Wantong Metal Technology Co., Ltd., Shandong Province, P.R. of China.
The system will be installed on a 4-high Aluminium Cold Rolling Mill. It will be complete with Automatic Gauge control (AGC), Automatic Flatness Control (AFC), flatness measurement system, coolant spray bars, thickness measurement system and one integrated Level 2 control system for automatic pass schedule calculation, primary mill data management and PDA (Process data Acquisition system).
